A Partner with Bower Monte & Greene since 2000, Mr. Douglas Stebbins brings his clients the experience, integrity, and sensitivity gained through 25 years of legal work. He is open and forthright in his analysis of all issues, is meticulous and thorough in his case preparation, aggressive in his representation of his clients, and highly skilled in negotiation and trial litigation.
Born in Akron, Ohio, Mr. Stebbins later attended Ohio State University where he received his Bachelor of Science in Education. Prior to becoming an attorney, Mr. Stebbins taught science and biology in an Indiana public school. In 1985, Mr. Stebbins earned his Juris Doctorate from the Valparaiso University School of Law in Indiana. He began practicing law in 1985 when he served as a law clerk for the honorable Allan Sharp in the Northern US District Court of Indiana. He was a partner with Eichorn, Eichorn & Link, where he represented the Public Utility of Northern Third of Indiana, as well as successfully defending his physician clients and insured defendants in property/casualty cases.
He has been involved in medical malpractice defense since the beginning of his legal career, steadfastly representing doctors and hospitals. He has represented a majority of hospitals in Manhattan and Long Island. He also has over a decade of experience in the area of general liability.
Furthermore, Mr. Stebbins is involved in his professional community. He frequently offers presentations in hospitals around the New York City area, educating health professionals about proper medical chart record keeping. He has also lectured on the American Disability Act at utility companies in Indiana and Universities.
